Norman Pearl RIBA - Shoreham Watercolours
- After a conventional education and my period of National Service, I spent a long career as an architect designing and managing the construction of a large number of buildings, included universities, schools, offices and housing. Apart from school art lessons, I resumed drawing and painting some five years ago upon retirement. I enjoy the special atmosphere of Shoreham particularly the houseboats and river scene.
- Portraiture is another enthusiasm of mine and my painting of the Queen now has pride of place in Mid-Sussex Council offices. In 2005 I won the Lord Goodman award for my painting of Sir Winston Churchill.
- My paintings have been exhibited at the Brighton Marina Gallery and, for the past four years, at the Ralli Hall, Hove.

Susan Edwards - Book Artist
- I am inspired by natural objects like shells, spines and seed heads. Repetition in nature, urban, rural or marine environments is something that I find fascinating. I think that the overall theme of my work comes from the processes that I use and evolves from them I enjoy printing, folding and pleating fabrics and paper I find the way ink reacts with paper and fabric exciting and sometimes inspirational. Consequently my choice of themes is usually serendipitous.
Chris Howitt - Stained Glass
- I have been working in glass for several years and recently have been learning and experimenting with traditional glass painting, fusing and slumping techniques. Inspiration for the pieces I make comes usually from a response to forms, shapes, textures and patterns I have seen and the interplay of light and water for which Shoreham is an ideal location!
- I have shown my work in Adur Art Trail since it began, and in various other local exhibitions.
Jean Griffiths - Textiles
- Jean has been exhibiting her textile work at Star Gap for five years now and this year is also showing her recent oil pastels for the first time.
- She has a recognisable style which runs through her work in both mediums.
Tamar Rose - Ceramics
- Trained in the Harrow craft tradition, Tamar Rose initially specialised in hand thrown domestic ware. This new body of work is a departure for her - hand built porcelain vessels, inspired by the textures, colours and contrasts in the landscape around us.
